About Butterflies ET

Butterflies E.T. is a Kindergarten (nursery) and theatre school set up by Birmingham born and raised Sharon Jones (formerly of Sister Tree Theatre Company). The charity was set up to provide much needed educational and social support to children in Debreiziet, Ethiopia. The children are from very impoverished backgrounds. Most of the young people are in the care of their grandparents or other guardians as a large number of their birth parents have died from AIDS and other illnesses. The elders are unable to work and are very stretched financially and physically.

Butterflies ET provides not only the essential education these children need to improve their futures but also respite for the elders. Equally, it offers a place for these elders to access clean warm water to bath and refresh.

It costs just £10 to send a child to Kindergarten to school for a year in Ethiopia. This money pays for the school’s educational materials, teachers, non-teaching staff and running costs. Butterflies ET is totally independent and not reliant upon any funding other than that of donations. Therefore, any support you offer will be gratefully received and used wisely.

If you are not able to go to the event but would still like to support th event, you can buy a ticket and send a note telling us that you will not be attending.

Thank you for any support you can provide.

I am so sorry Carol, I have only just seen this. The answer was yes. I’m not sure if you made it but if you did not, you can still donate. Please accept my apologies.
